Job Description:

The Provisioner is primarily responsible for functions that support of the customer’s engineering and network expansions and enters information to update RioTel and client databases. You will communicate regularly with clients and vendors to resolve issues in order to ensure that orders are completed accurately and on time. The Provisioner will serve as part of a team, coordinating with other team members and accepting overflow work assignments as directed by the Team Lead.

Job Responsibilities:

The following tasks will be performed to complete the primary responsibility of the Network Provisioner:

  • Utilize current knowledge of ASR web-based tools, manual order processes and the applications used by vendors for ordering services.
  • Coordinate solutions with vendors and field personnel for service delivery issues.
  • Provide problem management, including customer calls and problem escalation to appropriate levels, tracking and follow-up.
  • Provisioning of Ethernet DS0, DS1, DS3 and OC-n level circuits.
  • Update and maintain the RioTel and client databases.

Field Maintenance Technician

RioTel provides engineering, project management, and software solutions to the telecommunications, oil and gas, and public safety industries. We are recruiting a position for one of our clients, a fast growing wireless carrier serving large enterprise customers in rural coverage areas. Job Description:

The Field Maintenance Technician will support a defined wireless coverage area for the carrier to include both customer and tower sites in South Texas. They will report to the South Texas Field Manager. The Field Maintenance Technician can expect to perform the following duties:

  • Plan network installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation site; preparing an installation diagram.
  •  Establish data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm and fire-suppression systems; building ironwork and ladder racks; establishing connections; programming features; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards; activating remote access tools; coordinating with contractors.
  • Verify service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
  • Document network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
  • Maintain network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation.
  • Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
  • Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Maintain customer rapport by listening to and resolving concerns; answering questions.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Tower climbing is required for emergency outages, audits and maintenance and microwave alignments. Appropriate tower climbing safety training will be provided.
